At the 2006 Hilton Waikoloa Pro Futures, Chris and doubles partner Rodrigo Grilli (BRA) fought and scratched to the very end but came up short, losing a thriller to the tournament's #3 seeded team of Jonathan Chu (USA) and Alberto Francis (USA). The first set turned into an epic battle that eventually ended up at 6 games all and proceeded to a tie-breaker. The tie-breaker produced back and forth action resulting in sensational tennis, with Chu and Francis ultimately prevailing 11-9.
