Image Chris turned pro in 2006 and in his first year on tour, moved up 801 spots in the world singles rankings to 722. From October to November, Chris moved up 815 notches in the world doubles rankings to 685. At the end of 2006, Chris was ranked #63 among American men in singles and #65 in doubles. Highlights of his 2006 season in singles action included a semifinal appearance at the Palmen Motors Futures in Kenosha, Wisconsin, along with making the quarterfinals at Orange Park, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Honolulu. In doubles play, Chris was a finalist of the Wailea Challenger with Rodrigo Grilli (BRA). Chris and Rodrigo also advanced to the semifinals at Honolulu. At Costa Mesa, Chris teamed with Chris Surapol (USA) in advancing to the semifinals.

ImageChris Lam was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 16, 1983.  Chris is 24 years-old and single.  When he is not playing on tour, Chris lives and trains in Sacramento, California.  Prior to turning pro in 2006, Chris attended UCLA where he was a member of the Bruins' 2005 NCAA National Championship team. 

When he returns to Hawaii to visit his family, Chris enjoys hanging out at the beach where he surfs and wakeboards.  Chris' family still lives in Honolulu and includes his mom and dad, Patricia and Calvin, sisters Nicole, Joanna and Rachel, and brother Carter.  Carter, age 13, is one of the top-ranked junior players in Hawaii.

THE LAM REPORT - 5/21/07

With his quarterfinal result at the $10,000 Garber Automall Pro Classic (Orange Park, FL), Chris held ground in the latest ATP rankings released May 21st.  Among singles players, Chris' world ranking is #648, while his American ranking rose to a career-best #53.  In the world doubles rankings, Chris fell one spot to #616.  In the U.S., Chris holds down the #63 spot in this week's doubles list.   

 
MATCH POINT! - 5/1/07

It was a successful return to the tour today at the $10,000 Grand Harbor Saab Classic (Vero Beach, FL) as Chris and Ryler De Heart took out the American duo of Adam Fass and Monte Tucker in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.  Chris and De Heart, the tournament's #3 seed, controlled the match from the outset and were never seriously threatened in either set.  With the win, they advance to the quarterfinals and will play the winner of the Erik Graves (USA)/Jason Ramski (USA) vs. Kristopher Elien (ISV)/Robbie Parlade (USA) match.  Chris begins singles action tomorrow and will square off on the clay against Adam Kennedy (AUS).  Chris is the #8 seed in the singles main draw.  We will have all of Chris' daily match results posted right here at chrislamtennis.com as soon as they become available.
